Cooking for Kids
Anya Tomaseski Grades 5-8
Cooking for Kids is a class that will teach your children how to create their own snacks and meals for before or after school and even a few dinner recipes that you can make together. Cooking encourages children's thinking, problem-solving, and creativity. It also allows children the opportunity to use the knowledge they have and apply it by counting, measuring, following a sequence, following directions, and cause and effect. Throughout this class, your children will build their culinary skills, self-confidence and independence. In addition, they will also design their very own cookbook. It will be designed by them and full of easy to make recipes! Cookbook and all ingredients included in class fee. Students should bring a water bottle, extra hair-ties (to pull hair back as needed), pencil/pen to edit their cookbooks. Students should wear closed-toe shoes (sneakers), no loose clothing- they should wear clothes they are comfortable in but don’t mind getting dirty, long hair needs to be tied back and should bring a full-length apron. Please make sure to let us know if your child has any dietary restrictions prior to signing up so recipes can be adjusted accordingly. Get ready to get cookin’! M-TH 9-12pm
